I’m the proud mom of a bright, beautiful little boy named Tyler , the heart behind Tyler and Friends. This journey began one day as I watched him flipping through books and quietly asking, “Why don’t they look like me?” That question stayed with me, and I knew I had to do something.

I started writing stories where little Black boys were the heroes — where they laughed, explored, got messy, asked big questions and dreamed even bigger. Stories where they could look at the cover and see themselves reflected proudly. Not as sidekicks. Not in the background. But front and center just as they should be.

Tyler and Friends is more than just a name. It’s a promise to my son, and to so many children like him ,that their joy, their beauty, and their brilliance deserves to be on every bookshelf.
